I had my experience in October 2017 - February 2018. I remember we had come here for my moms wedding dress, and the workers overheard me describing the type of dress I wanted for prom, and all of a sudden they pulled this teal/rainbow gown out and I was instantly in love.
I picked out and bought my dress from affinity in December 2021 and it was an all around amazing experience. I was only in Iowa for 3 more days before returning to Alaska. They got me in, fitted me, altered it, and got me in for a final fitting in two days!
I absolutely love the gals that work here. I went in there a couple weeks ago to have my wedding dress altered. I put my dress on and the lady was honest with me and said that the "chest" area was too small. (I was about to cry because this was/is the dress of my dreams).
My visit to Affinity Bridal was wonderful!! The store was easy to find and all of the staff were welcoming and helpful. It was my first time trying on wedding dresses and I will admit I was somewhat dreading it.

Affinity Bridals comes up for plus size bridal and formal wear — confirmed on their own site. Two things to know before the trip. First, bridal shopping is usually by appointment — book ahead, and when you call, ask what size range their try-on samples come in. A shop can order almost any gown in your size, but the sample sizes on the floor decide whether you actually get to see yourself in the dress, and the good plus bridal shops stock samples to try, not just to imagine. Second, plan the alterations timeline: gowns and formal dresses typically go through two or three fittings, so the comfortable window is starting your search around 8–10 months before the date and saying yes to a gown by 6. Alterations are mentioned on site here, which makes the fitting logistics a whole lot easier.
