This store is a fashion icons dream! I live in NC and I have shopped with Akira online for years so this past weekend I was in ATL for a day and I figured I see what the store was like. I have never been so excited to shop in my life. They have everything!

Dominique was so kind and helpful! She immediately approached me and asked if I needed any help. She then grabbed all three or four of my items and offered to hold them up front for me cause she saw me struggling even though she clearly had so many other outfits in her hand at the time.
Akira is a bustling ladies store within the Mall with some fabulous clothes, you can’t fail to be impressed, wowed and impressed by the selection on other, it will cater for all shapes, figures and styles. What impressed me was the prices on offer, very very reasonable.

AKIRA comes up for plus size bridal and formal wear — confirmed on their own site. Two things to know before the trip. First, bridal shopping is usually by appointment — book ahead, and when you call, ask what size range their try-on samples come in. A shop can order almost any gown in your size, but the sample sizes on the floor decide whether you actually get to see yourself in the dress, and the good plus bridal shops stock samples to try, not just to imagine. Second, plan the alterations timeline: gowns and formal dresses typically go through two or three fittings, so the comfortable window is starting your search around 8–10 months before the date and saying yes to a gown by 6.
