I would just like to comment how AMAZING of an experience we had today. Note, we shop at Cato frequently and at various stores, and while we always get good service, the service today was EXCEPTIONAL!!! It is my birthday today so we came to Cedar Rapids to celebrate and decided to kill some time by going to Cato.
I never know what I'm gonna find her when it comes to clothes but I know that I will always find helpful service. Good size changing rooms but they only have 3 which are many times full. Nice bathroom. I check in at least once or twice a month to check on what's new. I can order online and ship to the store for free.
Great staff at the Cedar Rapids, IA location. I called from Davenport, IA to locate an item. They took the time to look in their store for the top I wanted, and held for me to pick up. I drove to the CR store on Saturday afternoon, they were very busy, but still very pleasant.

Cato Fashions comes up for plus size bridal and formal wear — confirmed on their own site. Two things to know before the trip. First, bridal shopping is usually by appointment — book ahead, and when you call, ask what size range their try-on samples come in. A shop can order almost any gown in your size, but the sample sizes on the floor decide whether you actually get to see yourself in the dress, and the good plus bridal shops stock samples to try, not just to imagine. Second, plan the alterations timeline: gowns and formal dresses typically go through two or three fittings, so the comfortable window is starting your search around 8–10 months before the date and saying yes to a gown by 6.
