I seriously can’t express how amazing this experience was. I booked the bridal suite and brought a party of 12, and from start to finish everything exceeded my expectations. As the bride, they truly went above and beyond to make sure the entire day was centered around my vision.
Dress shopping when you aren't a size 8 can be terrifying, but they had tons of sample dresses to fit this plus size body!! 🙌 they were kind, modest in the dressing room with me, & let me take my time. We popped Champage when i said yes to a beautiful Stella York dress. Truly the bridal experience!
I absolutely owe Downtown Gowns everything. My original dress didn’t workout and I walked in and the staff was so sweet and helpful the very first dress I tried on was the perfect one. The gown was beautiful and everyone loved it most importantly the groom!

First, bridal shopping is usually by appointment — book ahead, and when you call, ask what size range their try-on samples come in. A shop can order almost any gown in your size, but the sample sizes on the floor decide whether you actually get to see yourself in the dress, and the good plus bridal shops stock samples to try, not just to imagine. Second, plan the alterations timeline: gowns and formal dresses typically go through two or three fittings, so the comfortable window is starting your search around 8–10 months before the date and saying yes to a gown by 6. Alterations are mentioned on site here, which makes the fitting logistics a whole lot easier.
