If you’re looking for a wedding dress, you’re at the right place. I scheduled a consultation with Lacey (the owner) she sat down with me for about an hour to get an idea of what I’m looking for and of course, our budget.
The Steel Magnolia is such an amazing place! This was the first bridal shop I visited because I’ve heard so many great things about it, and let me tell you, all of it was true! Both Olivia and Lacy were so kind and wonderful from the moment I walked in to when I walked out.
I really, really enjoyed my experience at The Steel Magnolia. Making the appt was seamless and the dress fitting was remarkable. I was late to my appt, but Olivia at The Steel Magnolia was completely understanding and patient.
This year three of our brides at Warrenwood wore dresses from The Steel Magnolia. They were gorgeous! As just their venue, we can't speak to the customer experience at The Steel Magnolia or the dress pricing, but all three of our brides looked stunning in dresses that were flattering and fit them and their event well.

First, bridal shopping is usually by appointment — book ahead, and when you call, ask what size range their try-on samples come in. A shop can order almost any gown in your size, but the sample sizes on the floor decide whether you actually get to see yourself in the dress, and the good plus bridal shops stock samples to try, not just to imagine. Second, plan the alterations timeline: gowns and formal dresses typically go through two or three fittings, so the comfortable window is starting your search around 8–10 months before the date and saying yes to a gown by 6.
