From the moment I stepped in until the very end to where I picked up my dress, Volle’s was an incredible experience. It was easy to book an appointment and I brought several ladies with me to look at dresses. Mercedes helped me find “the one” and her and every single person in the shop were SO sweet.

First, bridal shopping is usually by appointment — book ahead, and when you call, ask what size range their try-on samples come in. A shop can order almost any gown in your size, but the sample sizes on the floor decide whether you actually get to see yourself in the dress, and the good plus bridal shops stock samples to try, not just to imagine. Second, plan the alterations timeline: gowns and formal dresses typically go through two or three fittings, so the comfortable window is starting your search around 8–10 months before the date and saying yes to a gown by 6. Alterations are mentioned on site here, which makes the fitting logistics a whole lot easier.
